Our Story
Hello my Friend and Welcome to Purple Shamrock Baked Goods!
There are some things you should know, right up front.
This site was created in much the same manner as my baked goods, by hand. I tried using AI products but umm….nope. I wanted something that felt more comfortable, that had some value on its own, without overselling or glamorizing the food that I create.
I used only pictures from things I have actually made. So, if you see imperfections, consider them personality quirks and understand that I have lots of them…but many are delicious!
People like a story…so here’s mine. If you get all the way through it, I hope you find yourself mildly entertained, moderately amused and wildly interested in buying my lovely, homemade products!
I spent the first 30 years of my working life as a caregiver, a rewarding but often difficult way of earning a living. We ran a 4-bed home for cognitively challenged adults. Some days it was great, but it was difficult and painful some days too.
I started baking cookies in volume to fill trays for community baskets we delivered from our church. It blossomed into making cookie trays for family, friends, coworkers and church members.
Then we needed a new floor in our church kitchen. That was 6 years ago and the first summer, after we paid for the floor, we sold at a local farmer’s market. The summer of 2024 we ramped up to 3 markets most weekends and as many as 5 some weekends! I made almost 800 dozen cookies in 2024 and over 4500 loaves of bread in my church kitchen!
My Husband Jon and my daughters Erin and Lily help with packaging, packing, loading, unloading, selling and most importantly, cleaning! We also called on nephews and nieces this summer to fill in as salespeople. It’s a family business!
I hope you browse through our products and pick out a few to try. We have lots of options and if you can’t find what you are looking for, call me. If I don’t know how to make it, I’ll try to find out and fulfill your needs.
Thanks for stopping in. I wish you a truly beautiful day!
